Snow & a few cows

Sometimes the snow and wind come so fast cattle are buried like this one. They stop out of the wind in a draw for protection and become trapped in the snow. We were devastated but fortunate that we only found a few this way.

Snow & a few cows

We dug into the west pasture by 2pm on Saturday. We found about 20% of the herd there. The rest were grouped about a mile south after drifting with the 60+ mph wind gusts during the night the surviving herd followed hay back to where they came from.

About Beer Ranch

I'm a farm/ranch wife and mother of 4. I've lived all my life on a farm caring for cows. Currently we raise cattle and a variety of crops. It is a great life and great way to raise children. A few years ago I learned about the Carnivore diet and have used it ever since.I enjoy helping other people improve their health.
